We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client’s behalf for a person in the following role:
We are looking for a Python Developer with a strong financial engineering background to join a global traded risk transformation programme at a leading international bank. You will design and build risk calculation tools, automate fragmented manual processes and help deliver consistent, well-controlled risk systems that support upcoming regulatory commitments across multiple international locations.
Key responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain Python-based tools and components for market and counterparty risk calculations
• Replace fragmented, manual processes (Excel/VBA, Access) with scalable, automated and well-tested solutions
• Implement and validate exposure calculation approaches across all asset classes
• Perform exposure regression analysis and explain differences between production and target-system exposures by breaking down the underlying variables
• Build data pipelines and SQL-based data models feeding risk systems
• Translate risk methodology and regulatory requirements into technical specifications and working code
• University degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or another quantitative discipline
• Strong hands-on Python development experience, including data analysis libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy) and writing clean, production-quality, tested code
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large financial datasets
• Solid understanding of derivatives and trading products across asset classes, including pricing, trade characteristics and hedging strategies
• Strong knowledge of traded risk concepts: market risk, counterparty credit risk, exposure calculation methodologies and Basel II/III
