Hiring guide

Data centre hiring in Poland: what is different

Poland's data centre sector supported nearly 41,000 jobs in 2025, and operating capacity is set to grow from about 250 MW today to more than 550 MW by 2031. The people who build and run these sites are harder to find: 64% of operators lost staff in the past 12 months, and 40% of data centre professionals in Europe and the US plan to change employer within a year.

Also part of the service

Alongside recruitment, we cover market mapping and salary benchmarking before you open a role, employment and payroll through Verita HR, relocation and corporate housing for foreign specialists, office and workspace setup, and company cars for field teams. IT, network and AI infrastructure roles can also be filled on a project basis through IT contracting.

Key hiring elements

  • SEP / URE certificates checked for group (G1, G2), type (E for operation, D for supervision), voltage level and expiry; certificates are valid for 5 years
  • Foreign electrical certificates are not recognised in Poland, so the Polish exam is planned into the hiring timeline
  • Employment contract (umowa o pracę) or B2B, structured per role
  • 12-hour shift patterns, rota design, shift premiums and rest time addressed in the offer
  • Notice periods of up to 3 months under the Polish Labour Code planned for from the start
  • Build phase: 0.7 to 2.0 construction workers per MW; a 100 MW build employs around 850 people over about 18 months
  • Operations: 0.15 to 0.35 FTE per MW, or about 100 to 200 permanent roles for a 100 MW campus
  • Salaries: in Warsaw, HVAC and data centre technicians earn around PLN 120,000 to 140,000 a year, plus shift premiums

Hire before commissioning ends

The operations team should be in place before commissioning ends, not after. We plan hiring by project phase: development and permitting, design and build, commissioning and handover, and 24/7 operations.

Building your first site in Poland?

Many companies building in Poland start with no Polish payroll, no HR team and no local network. We become your local people function from day one, from the first Country Manager to the shift team.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about data centre recruitment

Straight answers for employers hiring in Poland's data centre sector. If your question isn't here, ask us directly.

No. UK, German, US and other foreign electrical qualifications are not recognised for SEP / URE purposes. Foreign specialists must pass the Polish exam before they can operate or supervise electrical installations. We plan this into the hiring timeline so it does not delay site operations.

Yes. We recruit across the full lifecycle: development and permitting, design and construction (project managers, MEP site managers, quantity surveyors, HSE), commissioning and handover, and 24/7 operations (critical facilities engineers, shift technicians, NOC and site management).

Shift technicians and operations staff usually expect an employment contract (umowa o pracę) with shift and overtime rules. Senior engineers, IT specialists and contractors are often open to B2B. We advise on the right structure per role, because the wrong offer type is a common reason candidates decline.

All of Poland. Most demand is around Warsaw and its western corridor (Ożarów Mazowiecki, Jawczyce, Mory, Piaseczno), followed by Poznań and Kraków. We also support new campus projects in Pomerania, Silesia and Konin, where local talent is scarce and relocation is often part of the plan.
