Oracle Database Administrator

Verita HR Polska is a Human Resources service provider operating under number 5694.
We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client’s behalf for a person in the following role:

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments to ensure high availability and performance
• Perform database and SQL performance tuning, including query optimization and execution plan analysis
• Design, implement, and manage Oracle database instances in distributed environments
• Monitor database systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide root cause analysis for production incidents
• Support development teams with database-related topics, including performance and data modeling
• Review and contribute to logical and physical data model design
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and replication solutions (e.g., Data Guard)
• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with internal standards
• Automate routine DBA tasks and improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with global engineering and DBA teams to define and enforce best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
3+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in Unix/Linux environments
• Hands-on experience with database administration and development projects
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database technologies, tools, and architecture
• Proven experience in SQL and database performance tuning
• Experience with high-volume OLTP systems
• Understanding of data modeling (logical and physical design)
• Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies and replication solutions (e.g., Data Guard)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:
• Experience working with large-scale (terabyte+) databases
• Knowledge of Oracle best practices (indexing, partitioning, hints, schema design)
• Experience in international or distributed teams
• Scripting/automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Proactive mindset and strong ownership attitude
