Responsibilities
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will work with a complex enterprise application, combining software development with system analysis and modernisation activities. The role involves understanding existing solutions, analysing legacy components and supporting the evolution of the application landscape.
Analyse and enhance existing application components and services
Perform reverse engineering based on source code, documentation and business processes
Design and implement Java-based solutions and system improvements
Create and maintain technical documentation
Support application modernisation and legacy system upgrades
Define and develop automated test scenarios
Collaborate with technical teams to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve system issues
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Java development
Strong knowledge of Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring and Hibernate/JPA
Experience working with legacy systems and complex enterprise applications
Knowledge of REST APIs, system integrations and distributed architectures
Experience with RabbitMQ, Oracle databases and application servers
Ability to analyse existing codebases and technical documentation
Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab and CI/CD tools
English at B2 level or higher
