Data Centre Plant Leads: Who to Hire in Poland

Data Centre Plant Leads-2

A hiring manager at a Polish data centre posts for a plant lead and gets applications from office facilities managers. This piece sets out what the seat actually owns, which operators have posted for it in the last year, and what stops a hire starting.

Verita HR has already mapped the technician hiring west of Warsaw and set out the role bands on a Polish site. The manager seat sits above those bands, and the adverts for it keep changing the title.

What Is a Plant Lead Responsible For?

To put it simply, the plant lead looks after the kit that keeps a hall online. That means the power path, the cooling, the building-management system that watches both, the generators, and the vendors who service them.

The crew lead looks after the people and the live hall. That means the shift pattern, the tickets, and the written method for any work that touches a running load.

On a small site one person is often asked to cover both jobs, while on a campus the work is usually split into two seats. The title on the advert depends on the operator. Microsoft calls the plant seat a Critical Environment Technician Manager, Vantage calls the crew seat a Manager, Chief Engineer, and DATA4 used Facility Manager. The work is the same cluster of tasks, but the wording is not.

Who Has Posted It?

Operators in Poland name the same seat differently, which is why a search for facilities manager or operations manager returns almost nothing current.

Microsoft posted a Data Center Critical Environment Technician Manager in Warsaw on October 2. At the time of writing, the LinkedIn page still shows an apply path, and the published Poland band for the Critical Environment Ops M3 grade is 171,200 to 297,600 zł. The brief covers people management plus inspection of the HVAC and mechanical systems, which sits above the technician ranges we already published.

Vantage Data Centers posted a Manager, Chief Engineer, EMEA in Warsaw in late September. The page is also currently still up, Polish is listed as essential, and the brief is leadership of the critical facilities technician crew, reporting to a director of operations.

The ads that used the plain titles are older. DATA4 posted a Data Center Facility Manager for Jawczyce, covering electricity, cooling, low-current systems and health and safety, reporting to an operations director. It asked for a technical degree, seven years in a critical facility, and two years leading a crew. LinkedIn still has the page and marks it closed. Atman posted a Kierownik Utrzymania Data Center for Warszawa-2 on Konstruktorska, a maintenance lead over about ten engineers. Pracuj.pl still has the page although the advert expired about nine months ago.

What Stops a Hire Starting?

A certificate from another country does not clear someone to work. Poland requires a local qualification certificate, the świadectwo kwalifikacyjne, which the trade calls an SEP certificate. It has to show the right group and the right voltage. Without the right certificate, the hire cannot start in the first week.

Pay is the other local miss. ERI’s 2026 survey puts a blended data-centre or operations manager title in Poland at about 188,000 zł. An employment contract and a B2B invoice are taxed differently in Poland, and shift premiums sit outside the base. A search run from outside the country usually prices the seat against an office facilities manager, and the candidate does not move.

How Does Verita HR Hire for Data Centre Companies?

Verita HR works with employers building and staffing technical operations across Poland, including the plant leads and crew leads a data centre cannot run without. That means the senior technician or shift lead already on another Polish site, the SEP check before a name goes forward, and the contract shape a foreign employer will not see from outside the country.
