HRO Personnel was registered in Poland in 2010 as Invidia HR Sp. z o.o. By autumn 2013 it was still trading under that name while already running a multi-brand structure. Temporary staffing, personnel outsourcing and BPO/SSC work sat in Invidia HR. The rest of the services were delivered from Verita HR Polska Sp. z o.o., which owns the company 100%.

HRO Personnel’s early temporary and outsourcing work

Invidia HR listed payroll, temporary recruitment and BPO/SSC recruitment as its core business in the early 2010s. The company described itself as the partner for temporary staffing, outsourcing and junior-level contingency recruitment. It had built up a worker base that was more than 200 people by 2013. This division of the business was run by Patrycja Krajczynska in Warsaw and Tamas Veres in Krakow. Both offices opened their doors in November 2010.

Due to the nature of the business, there were some very novel sales practices being used. These included dropping off hundreds and thousands of doughnuts in specialist HRO Personnel branded boxes to HR Managers located across the whole of Poland. The team also sent details of administrative support and receptionists available to clients regularly on Monday mornings, this was done by Fax.

The team sent out assignment performance of temporary staff surveys for clients to complete monthly regarding the service an individual temp was delivering.

Delivery and quality were the focus, and new clients kept coming, especially in Krakow. From 2014 the company rebranded. It became HRO Personnel. And with it, the team were becoming proficient at “mass recruiting”.

Large projects that defined the company

Some of the most prominent projects for the teams over the years was the Premier Farnell office setup in Krakow, the recruitment and outsourcing of the entire national sales team for British American Tobacco, and the co-ordination of a national team of bookkeepers and accountants for Budimex, to help drive the development of Poland’s highways. All the projects involved recruiting 100+ people as well as managing many of them on the company’s payroll.

Premier Farnell, now called Element 14, was one of the first shared service centres to move a sales function to Poland, but with languages other than just English or Polish. German, French, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, and other specialist language professionals were recruited to join the newly setup centre. Tamas Veres from the HRO Personnel team helped with the two on-site co-ordinators who formed the RPO team. Language testing methods were introduced which other clients also benefit from, even today.

British American Tobacco (BAT) was the first tobacco company in Poland to take sales in-house. Instead of using the large distribution companies that often swallowed much of the margin, BAT decided to hire its own salespeople and use its own vehicles. It distributed cigarettes and tobacco to shops across the country from its own warehouses and not using a third party supplier. Patrycja Krajczynska and her team ensured that the roles were filled, worked with the salespeople to ensure they had access to vehicles and were fully trained.

Budimex is one of the most successful construction companies in Poland. Instrumental in developing Poland’s national highway system, the company employed thousands of people over the years. To ensure that engineers and construction workers were paid on time, their expenses returned, there was a need to have accountants in place all across the country and not just in the head office in Warsaw. Renata Wroclawska, Marlena Raczkowska and “Pani Madzia” were the team that ran this process, the service was delivered on-site at the offices of Budimex.

The teams that ran the work

These are just some of the projects the team has undertaken over the years. And it is the team that undertook them. Not just the recruiters, but the finance team with Sylwia Kowalska-Haupka, Maria Starzec, Konrad Zieba, Wojciech Krawczyk and Adam Supernak. The accounts team including Dorota Wasiewicz. More importantly, the payroll team including Adam Kowalczyk, Anna Staniszewska, Malgorzata Turant, Agnieszka Guminska, Maja Jurek and many others. The teams have always been familiarly referred to as #HROdzina.

One of the success stories outside of the company’s HQ in Warsaw came in 2016 when Malgorzata Ossowska was running the Krakow office of HRO Personnel. Malgorzata moved to Krakow for several months to ensure that the office continued its growth trajectory. In 2017 this was rewarded with a one million zloty+ net result in sales for the Krakow team.

Social media reach built in the early years

Pani Madzia (or Magdalena Kowalska) helped grow the HRO Personnel business on social media. In the early 2010s she sat down and created a huge following on Facebook that is still the largest such following in Poland. She generated all the city groups that are all still active today: Praca w Warszawie, Praca w Krakowie, Praca w IT, and the rest. By 2022 the Facebook side held more than 20 groups and 415,000 members. The largest were Tricity (51,000), Lublin (48,000), Kraków (42,000), Katowice (35,000), Rzeszów (35,000) and Poznań (34,000). Warsaw stood at 29,000. Praca w IT held 22,000.

A little earlier, in 2010, Edward Poynter created LinkedIn groups to help raise the profile of the business. Recruitment in SSC / BPO & Outsourcing – Poland was one of them. In total LinkedIn now has 26 groups managed by the team at HRO Personnel, with 32,000 members, including 2,495 in the SSC/BPO group.

What clients said

Many of the clients of HRO Personnel are global brands. Statoil Poland (today Circle K) wrote that Invidia HR had been a main supplier of temporary work and recruitment since 2011, and that single orders had covered several dozen temporary workers. MeadWestvaco (MWV) in Bydgoszcz provided one of the first references about the company’s outsourcing services, then LG Electronics Polska wrote that Invidia HR had been its main supplier of recruitment, temporary work and personnel outsourcing since March 2011. Wydawnictwa Szkolne i Pedagogiczne (WSiP) wrote in February 2012 that Invidia HR had supplied temporary workers since 2010, with the largest projects covering around 30 people. Teekanne Polska and FixIT SA issued similar letters for specialist and multilingual technical recruitment. Alexander Mann Solutions later recorded continuous work with HRO Personnel from 2010.

Later, there are more references that refer to HRO Personnel including from AON in Krakow, Japanese Tobacco (JTI), Wincor Nixdorf (now Diebold Nixdorf), and Elavon in Warsaw.

From Invidia HR to HRO Personnel

The decision to rebrand the temporary and outsourcing activity was deliberate. An internal presentation set out the aim of folding Invidia HR into the HRO family (already in use as the brand of the recruitment team) so that temporary staffing, outsourcing and payroll would sit under one clearer name. The stated reasons were to strengthen visibility, reduce the cost of promoting several brands, and identify services more clearly with a single market presence. As a result of the name change, the brand was also updated and new logos were prepared for HRO Personnel, HRO Recruitment, HRO Technology, HRO Finance and HRO Sales & Marketing.

In February 2014 client materials started using the HRO Personnel name. Outsourcing and RPO proposals prepared from 2015 presented HRO Personnel as part of Verita HR Group, with offices in Kraków and Warsaw. Services include temporary staffing and personnel outsourcing, BPO/SSC recruitment, sales-force outsourcing, and RPO on a full, hybrid or project basis. By 2018 the company had helped 16 new service centres to open and was able to list more than 30 existing shared-service centres as clients. It also recorded more than 100 outsourced employees working in the shared-services sector.

HRO Personnel’s 2015 Handbook strengthened the company’s value proposition. It described the company as the specialist temporary-staffing, outsourcing and RPO arm of Verita HR group. It documented the temporary-worker guide, client-satisfaction surveys, language tests, contract templates, membership of SAZ (the Polish Recruitment Federation), and the social media footprint of the company.

What the company does now

HRO Personnel Sp. z o.o. reported net sales of 129.6 million zloty in 2025, up from 105.9 million the year before. The figure is taken from the audited accounts for the year to 31 December 2025. Wages and social-security costs accounted for the large majority of the total.

However, much as was the case in the past when HRO was folded into the HRO family, something similar is happening today. Instead of continuing to strengthen the HRO brands, Verita HR Group has embraced a strategy of one brand, one website, one marketing strategy. Today, Verita HR’s website is a “group” website, and not an individual one that differs from the website of HRO Personnel. All the services are listed in one place instead.

Today, the bulk of the work carried out for the HRO Personnel brand is carried out in the company’s payroll team. Today, as in 2010, Malgorzata Turant continues to be a constant in that team. With a stable team comes a guarantee of good quality service. HRO Personnel still gets awarded by its clients as well as by the wider market.

One such example is when HRO Personnel was named a laureate of the “Odpowiedzialny i Przyjazny Pracodawca” programme in November 2023. The award, run by PFR Portal PPK, recognises employers that have achieved high employee participation in Employee Capital Plans (PPK) and treated the scheme as a genuine workplace benefit. Laureates are nominated by the financial institutions that operate the plans. It is not a general ranking of overall workplace quality or recruitment performance.

The people who deliver the work remain the constant.
