The Largest Tech Employers in Krakow
This year the team at MOTIFE Insights has created an open dataset for interested parties to review. The data shows company names, industry sectors, headcount, tech used, and more.
Comarch sits at the top of the list with 2,550 IT specialists supporting the company in Krakow today. Cisco is in second place with a total headcount of 2,118. Aptiv comes in third with 2,100.
Companies employing more than 1,000 IT specialists in Krakow include Motorola Solutions, EPAM, HCL Technologies, Capgemini, HSBC, Sabre, and UBS.
The data also includes (in some cases) the share of women among IT specialists. Of the larger employers of IT specialists in Krakow, ABB has a 42 percent share of women in IT. Cisco has 39 percent. EPAM has 30 percent. This extra data highlights the push for diversity amongst businesses in Krakow today.
The Biggest Impacts on the Krakow IT Market
According to the report the companies that grew their IT teams by more than 10 percent last year included IBM, Grand Parade, UBS, and StoneX.
Another area of interest was how layoffs have affected the Krakow ecosystem. 20 percent of companies employing IT specialists in Krakow experienced non-performance layoffs in 2024. 57 percent of companies remained stable and didn’t announce any layoffs. Only 4 percent of companies reduced headcount by 10 percent.
34 percent of companies surveyed said they offer fully remote work on a case-by-case basis. It is mainly smaller companies that offer fully remote work, with larger firms less inclined to be open to fully remote working.
When it comes to new players joining the Krakow ecosystem, in 2024 the report shows that eight new companies opened offices in Poland’s second city. These companies are ActiveCampaign, Avature Limited, BVI Medical, Genetec, Honeywell, Metso, Sysco, and Vlator.
Finally the report presents how 40 percent of companies are hiring AI and Machine Learning specialists in Krakow today. DevOps is the most common tech skill set, ahead of Cloud and Java respectively.

The ABSL Summit takes place in Krakow this year. Running from the 23rd to the 25th of June 2025 the event attracts great interest from across the world with politicians and business leaders alike speaking at the event. This year companies from Krakow with speakers at the event include GE Healthcare, Euroclear, Amer Sports, Billennium, and Sii.
ASPIRE Summit
Dates are yet to be announced but expect the ASPIRE Summit to take place in the last quarter of 2025. Last year’s event highlighted the importance of quantum computing for the future of centres in Krakow. This year promises to continue to develop the topic of future technologies.
